Jenny

We could take turns making our own LTA podcasts and send them to Wayne for posting... ::shrug::

Ryan Rebensdorf

I was listening to CH.1 and Jett said wayne was exiled from home...hmm...I know the story is he met his wife or whatever and moved here but...that's what jett said.

Jenny

But, we all know Jett sits on a throne of lies.

wcbhoy

The King is dead. Long live the King!

Phil

Jenny - I have already suggested to Wayne that open auditions be held for Jett's job.

Foundthis on madeinchina69:maybe it gives a little away?...
My friend Jett Loe
My ex-colleague and friend Jett Loe has taken to producing a podcast from Belfast (Letter To America) where he is currently stationed. His main marketing tool seems to be writing to people in his address book and saying "You get mentioned in Chapter X, check it out buddy" (full transcript below). So far I've listened to 3 episodes on this basis and still no mention. It reminds me of the two rival authors in a Martin Amis book (The Information)where one anonymously delivers a copy of the New York Times (a big fucker of a newspaper) to the other one with a note saying "There's something in here that'll interest you" figuring in his vanity he'll spend days crawling through the columns looking for references. BUT then the first author worries that there might really be a mention of his rival and spends hours pawing over the paper to make sure there are no references. Not that me and Jett are rivals, of course. Chapter 8, the very best one so far, is excellent.

The Transcript in Full:
"went for a piss...man - every second of the show is gold!
forget about episode 7 - listen to episode 8 - think you get a mention
in that too
jt.

here's a video...it sort of looks like the world criminal one but it's not. It is filmed in the same place though..

has anyone gone through the "slumber" vidcast to see if the audio for the world criminal is in there? maybe that's where it's at?

Jenny

I watched a couple of the Slumbers... it seems like an unrelated project. Also, I don't think the location of the Osama/AOL video is relevant. Jett's flat isn't huge - that's just where his computer is located.

Davey Monroe

Your such a fucking twat !

Jama

*YELLOW CARD*
I told myself that I wasn't going to post anymore as I think this situation is getting a bit silly, however, I just have to say Davey, if you're going to insult someone try to use proper grammar. It's YOU (apostrophe) RE.

Please send an e-mail to management with your bizarre complaints.

*OK, GAME ON!*

wcbhoy

Oh wow Davey, real keyboard hardman you are.

Phil

Not to question the existence of our friend "davey", but it's possible that davey is a randomly generated spam comment.

I've had them on my site before, where they don't come from "real" people.

In other words, don't pay it much attention.

Thom Brown, III

I say we change the name to "Letter's of Earth," or "Loe" for short and then take up Jenny's suggestion and make it a communal podcast from acrocc the globe . . . Sound interesting? It's always been an interactive project, this would merely be taking it to the next level . . . No more are we saying, "Entertain me," rather we'd be saying, "Let's create . . ." It might force us to do something great . . .

Thom Brown, III

Doesn't this feel like CHarlie and the Chocolate factory to anyone else? And Jett is actually Jonny Depp? Wayne is, of course, Slugworth . . . and LTA was his factory . . . Who's gonna be Charlie?

Phil

I'll be Grandpa, who lays around in bed all day.

sparrow

I could fill the role of Umpa Lumpa...I often find myself breaking into song and performing choreographed dance routines...but then again who doesn't?...I mean come on...anyone...just me then...

I really like Jenny's idea of a communal podcast-but I'm not sure about how it would be possible to put it together.

Jenny

If we were to do a communal podcast, we wouldn't expect everyone to do a 59 minute King-Kong long audio extravaganza with guests & actors. Probably just a few minutes here and there. I do worry that 1. people aren't going to want to put the work in and 2. it'll become more like a communal blog.

Maybe instead of having individual entries, we could pose a challenge or question and have people submit their answer to it. An easy example would be "What do people where you live think Belfast is like?" Then anyone who wants to can ask people where they live the question, and submit the audio files to one person (I could do that) to compile and turn into a mini podcast.

Thoughts?

Brianf

Jenny, I really like that idea. We could also use skype to call in our segments. Hmmm..I'm likin' this the more I think about it. Anyone else?

Brianf

um...maybe I should have said....I'm likein' this instead.

Jenny

The more I think about it, the more I'm liking it too, Brian. I think if a few more people express interest here, I'll go ahead and get Wayne's permission to post the first assignment. Maybe we'll just try one show for now and see how it goes. After all, Jett could be back any day.

sparrow

This sounds like an excellent idea to me...though I'm not sure how I personally would go about doing any of this with such limited audio recording equipment. I would definitely be interested in listening to it; so you'd have one listener at least!

Phil

I think I've discovered it...Jett has taken on another alias and is the crew commander for the upcoming Space Shuttle Atlantis launch!
